Reviews: Crown Range Cellar ‘The Stolen Heart’ Hawkes Bay Merlot/Malbec/Cabernet Franc 2013★★★★★
"Full, dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red, youthfully purple in appearance. The bouquet is tight and firmly concentrated with deep, youthfully primary and aromatic notes of ripe dark red and spicy black berry and plum fruit, along with bramble, earth and nuances of blackcurrants. The nose unfolds dark and savoury herbal detail in the glass. Medium-full bodied and elegantly proportioned, the palate is tight and refined with ripe and sweet fruit flavours of dark red berry fruits, plums, spices, earth and blackcurrants. The fruit is plush and slippery, the palate underlined by considerable fine-grained tannin structure and grip. Excellent acidity and freshness enlivens the fruit and mouthfeel, and the flavours lead to a bright and sweet, long-lingering finish. This is an elegantly proportioned, plush and juicy, rich dark berry and plum fruited Merlot/Malbec/Franc blend with currant and spice interest and a firm and lively tannin line. Match with beef, lamb, venison and semi-hard cheeses over the next 6-9 years. 13.0% alc. "★★★★★
93 points"From the Gimblett Gravels district, this is beautifully ripe and fragrant on the nose showing cassis, dark plum, game and cedar characters with a hint of dried herb complexity. The palate is concentrated and weighty, and offers terrific fruit purity together with subtle savoury undertones, wonderfully supported by fine tannins. Generous, flavoursome and very long on the finish. At its best: now to 2021. Nov 2016."

Crown Range Cellar White Clover Honey comes from the Southern farming pastures of the South Island. This is the area where the purest and best white clover honey is produced. HELPING THE ENVIRONMENT: White clover is a legume which holds nitrogen fixing abilities. Growing clover significantly reduces the need to add nitrogen fertilisers to our soils, which has a major benefit for the environment. Our bees play a critical role by pollinating the clover to maintain a seed bank for reproduction. It has been estimated that the free pollination the bees perform, while collecting nectar from the white clover, contributes about NZD$2billion to the New Zealand Economy each year. There is also the major environmental benefit of reduced fertiliser use on the land.
